Thank you for your input! All community discussion sessions are complete. If you would like to provide additional feedback to the Task Force, please email medculture@wustl.edu, or complete the anonymous feedback form.

The Task Force established a series of community discussion sessions led by the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. These community discussion sessions were meant to provide space for people to come together and reflect on our culture and climate.

Sessions were facilitated by staff of the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, as well as members of the volunteer Restorative Justice in Academic Medicine team and Equity Champions program, using a restorative justice approach to acknowledge harm and support healing. Discussion themes (but not specific case details or personal identifiers) will be summarized and reported to the Task Force.

Session participation

As these will be discussions where everyone shares their personal experiences and stories, we expect everyone to have the ability to turn on their camera and microphone to engage with the questions by facilitators and stories from fellow attendees. We recommend that attendees join the Zoom call from a location with some privacy.

You may notice that we ask a question about gender identity in the event registration. During our sessions we will go to breakout rooms to provide space for shared identity groups. For the purposes of these listening sessions, we are providing separate spaces for people who identify as (1) men and (2) women and gender diverse (including people who identify as transgender, non-binary, or gender non-conforming). Depending on the number of registrants, identities of registrants, and available facilitators, we may create more shared identity small groups in the session. Registrants will receive a confirmation email with additional details. For more information about LGBTQIA+ terminology, please see the LGBTQIA+ Glossary of Terms for Health Care Teams.
